WITHDRAWN

Dan Willig’s thesis exhibition, Withdrawn explores temporal rifts between bodies and place. The exhibition invites viewers to contemplate their own relationship with the complex nature of contemporary existence.

Dan Willig is an MFA candidate at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He received his BFA from Lyme Academy College of Fine Art and is originally from Long Island, New York.

Dan's art practice aims to understand the complex nature of contemporary existence and its effects on the psyche. Rooted in representation, he works in relief sculpture, drawing, and animation to express lived experiences in relationship social environments.

In his work, emotions such as melancholia, estrangement, and loneliness arise as he investigates the ontology
of being human.
