Opening Reception for A Way in Which We Fall (MFA Thesis Exhibit)

Herter Art Gallery is pleased to present A Way in Which We Fall (Very Slowly and All Together), a thesis exhibition by MFA candidate C.J. Hill, in the Department of Art at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
The reception will take place in Herter Gallery on Thursday, April 17th, from 4–6 PM, and the exhibition will be on view from April 14–19.
Artist Bio:
C.J. Hill is an artist who works across the mediums of drawing, painting, sculpture, and writing. He received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, and lived for years in a communal artist spaces in Providence, RI. He has attended the Art Farm residency in Nebraska and the Lijiang Studio residency in Lashi Hai, China. This coming summer he will attend the Jentel Residency in Wyoming and hold a solo exhibition at the LUX center for the arts in Lincoln Nebraska. In art making, CJ tries to understand his place in the storm of things. He strives to make drawing an empathetic act, and to reconcile the individual with the societal, and the material with the immaterial.
