Retangle No. 2 is an experimental art space designed to cultivate care and build resistance. In times of complexity, we orient toward creative interventions that perform peace, weave community, and envision liberatory futures. Retangle No. 2 is curated by MFA Students Anna Chapman and Kiran Jandu.

Retangle No. 2 features:

Window Peace ‘25
A month-long collective performance peace action that occupies the gallery window. The piece is an homage to Susan Kleckner and the womxn of Window Peace ‘86, performed in NYC for an entire year.

Communal Loom
At the center of the show is a communal loom built from discarded wood and woven with torn bed sheets. Throughout the duration of the show, the public is invited to participate in this collective weaving, whose warp and weft may be no other than ourselves and the stories we carry.

Activist Salon
Located in the back of the gallery is an open studio intended to envision concrete solutions for today’s complex problems. The space will be activated by environmental media & installation artist Marianna Dixon Williams. Come see their practice and engage with their process.

Events
Every Friday evening the gallery will be activated from 4pm - 8pm, featuring performances, screenings, lectures, and open studio sessions. In the spirit of emergent strategy and collaboration, we invite you to submit artwork and events. Throughout the duration of the show, we will add new events to our calendar.
