Health and Safety in the Studio: Hazards and Precautions in Art and Theater Work

Health and Safety in the Art Studio is a special intensive week long summer course taught by Industrial Hygienist Monona Rossol, a pioneer in art safety. It is designed for both students planning to be artists and safety professionals with a focus in the arts, such as visual artists, designers, art educators, theater technicians, builders, and safety professionals in an informative, interesting and frequently entertaining way. Health and Safety in the Art Studio focuses on using art and theater materials in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations. Students who pass the final exam will receive a letter from Rossol certifying their training in certain OSHA regulations. These letters have qualified many individuals for jobs in arts practice or education (in several theatrical unions, these letters are accepted in lieu of OSHA training).
