The Department of Art at UMass Amherst welcomes you to our Fall 2023 Open House for prospective students.
This event offers an opportunity to meet with the Undergraduate Program Director, Undergraduate Advisor, and Faculty to ask questions and learn more about what it is like to study Studio Art at UMass Amherst. Visitors are invited to take a tour of the Studio Arts Building and the NEW Randolph W. Bromery Fine Arts Center ARTS BRIDGE visual art facilities, completed in Fall 2021.
Schedule:
9:30 – Guests are welcome to visit the Studio Arts Building (SAB) to view an exhibit of student artwork. Faculty will be available for informal Q & A, refreshments provided
10:00 – Tour of Studio Arts Building and Bromery Center Arts Bridge #1
11:00 – Info Session on Undergraduate Programs (SAB Rm 240)
11:30 – Tour of Studio Arts Building and Bromery Center Arts Bridge #2
12:00 – Portfolio Review with Department of Art Faculty
Portfolio Review
Prospective students are welcome to bring a physical or digital portfolio (via laptop or tablet) to be reviewed by studio arts faculty. Our faculty and staff do not give admissions decisions at this event but will be available to review creative work for merit and approach, as well as give advice on applying to the undergraduate art programs. There are no requirements for media or content when submitting a portfolio to UMass Amherst. Bring your best work and check portfolio submission tips here.
