Josue Salazar

Josue Salazar is primarily a landscape artist and educator based in Amherst, MA. He was born in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, and immigrated to the U.S. when he was still in grade school. He lived most of his life in California, where he received his Bachelor's in Studio Art Methods from California State University Sacramento.

His art takes notice of when life isn’t so busy in such a fast-paced world and draws from those moments the content of his work. More recently, he has been focusing on his immigrant identity and is exploring how border communities can be represented better.
