Associate Professor Christopher J. Nygren will deliver a public lecture on “Salt, Water, Stone: The Ecology of Art in Renaissance Venice” on March 21, 2023 5:00PM. He is the author of the recent book Titian’s Icons, which won with the Renaissance Society of America award for best book of 2020. The lecture is co-sponsored by the Department of the History of Art and Architecture, the Five College Seminar in Renaissance Studies, and Amherst College.
