UMCA Curatorial Fellowship 3

Caelen Trujillo (History of Art and Architecture Class of 2026), recipient of the 2025–26 UMCA Curatorial Fellowship, co-curated the exhibition Déjà Vu: The Cycles That Haunt Us, now on view at the University Museum of Contemporary Art.

Marking twenty years of the museum’s curatorial program, the exhibition looks back at two decades of student-curated shows drawn from the museum’s permanent collection, tracing recurring sociopolitical concerns across time. It also includes interactive elements that invite visitors to reflect on the past and imagine new futures.

The exhibition is accompanied by a panel conversation with local arts leaders, including Kaliis Smith (radio host and producer for New England Public Media), Anika Lopes (founder and executive director of Ancestral Bridges), and Eddie Clifford (managing editor of the Massachusetts Review). The panel is co-moderated by Suzanne Bagia and Caelen Trujillo.
