As part of the HFA Days programming, Professor Ho will give a Lightning Talk on the topic "Another Journey to the West." This will be one of seven ten-minute faculty talks offered on April 11, 2024, in the lobby of the Fine Arts Center. "What is an image of Jim Crow doing in a Chinese comic from the 1940s?  Starting from an example of a well-known comic, I will discuss how my research engages the complexities of the history of modernism, art and revolution, and world imagination in twentieth-century China."
