In October of 2023, the History of Art & Architecture Department held a symposium in honor of University Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Islamic Art History, Professor Walter Denny. The event celebrated Walter Denny’s scholarship in Islamic art and his 53 years of teaching at the university. The Denny Fund & Acknowledgements page includes information on how to donate to the Walter Denny Fund, share appreciation for Professor Denny via Google Form, and sign a petition to support a tenure-track position for Islamic Art to continue Walter's legacy.
