Lloyd DeWitt
Lloyd has been the Irene Leach Curator of European Art and Chief Curator at the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, VA since April 2016, working on projects such as Thomas Jefferson’s architecture, Peruvian Viceregal art, Chinese propaganda posters and Impressionist paintings. As head of the Department of European Art at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Lloyd organized exhibitions on J. M. W. Turner, Michelangelo and Wilhelm Hammershøi and also developed the Kid’s Gallery. While serving as Associated Curator of the John G. Johnson Collection in Philadelphia, Lloyd organized Rembrandt and the Face of Jesus and exhibitions on Jan Lievens, Jacob van Ruisdael, David Teniers II, Hans Memling and others. He also served as advisor to the Jan Lievens exhibition in Washington, Milwaukee and Amsterdam that was based on his 2006 dissertation at the University of Maryland. Lloyd is also serving as 2019 Getty Leadership Institute Fellow.
