Since I only have classes on Wednesday and Thursday, I have a lot of free time on my hands. Don't get me wrong. When life is super busy, I cherish free time. However, when I have too ~little~ to do, I get anxious.
At UMass, a couple of my friends and I volunteer at a soup kitchen every Friday afternoon. Spending time there helping and hanging out is a great way to give back to the greater Amherst community.
Same goes for any soup kitchen, anywhere. So I figured I finding one near me would be a perfect way to fill up some of my free time.
Although my French isn't the best, I think it's enough to get me by here in France. Le Resto du Coeur is a local soup kitchen that serves almost everyone in need over the course of the week. Another girl in my program already volunteers here, so I’ll even have a buddy to go with.
Updates to come, but I am super excited to get involved with my community.
