Stephen Schreiber, professor and chair, organized and presented a session on Architecture Faculty as Elected Officials at the 56th annual meeting of the Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA) in Halifax, Nova Scotia in May. The session focused on the intersection of architecture and politics, with architecture faculty stepping into roles as elected officials. Architecture faculty possess a unique skill set that blends creativity with analytical thinking, making them well-equipped to address complex urban challenges. The session included talks by Schreiber (an inaugural Town Councilor in Amherst, MA) and by city leaders in Morgantown, WV, and Keene, NH.
