Spring 2021 Lecture Series Announced

This spring's virtual lecture series features four exciting presenters. Lectures begin at 4:00pm EST. The lectures are free, but registration is required in order to receive the presentation link. Visit individual event pages to register.
The talks begin on February 10 with James Garrett Jr.. James is a founding architect of 4RM+ULA (FORM + Urban Landscape Articulation), of Minneapolis, MN, a firm focused on Transit Design, Transit-Oriented-Development, and urban infill redevelopment projects. He creates dynamic spaces for the 21st century that demonstrate a commitment to diversity and equity in the profession.
On March 17th, we will hear from Dina A. Griffin, president of Chicago's Interactive Design Architects (IDEA). Under her leadership, along with her partners, IDEA has successfully completed projects such as the African American Cultural Center project at the University of Illinois. They are also partnered with Tod Williams|Billie Tsien Architects to design the Barack Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. Dina is dedicated outreach to minority architecture students and emerging professionals.
As the Director of Global Diversity at Perkins & Will, Gabrielle Bullock directs the Diversity, Inclusion, and Engagement program, which works to support and strengthen a firmwide culture that embraces a diversity. Gabrielle combines her passion for architecture and social justice to effect positive change at a micro and macro level. She will speak on March 31st.
April 21st features Latoya Nelson Kamdang is the Director of Operations of the NY Studio of Moody Nolan, the AIA 2021 Firm of the year. As a Registered Architect and Certified Interior Designer; her experience spans architecture, planning, exhibit design, industrial design, and interior design. She is also a Visiting Associate Professor at Pratt Institute for ten years where she has a research focus on rapidly expanding urban areas, neighborhood gentrification, passive sustainable technologies, and indigenous architecture.
