Energy Codes to Carbon Codes
This past January, Professor Robert Williams presented research at the Annual ACSA/AIA Intersections Research Conference in Austin, TX. His paper, titled "From Energy Codes to Carbon Codes: The Role of Embodied Carbon in Contemporary Code-Compliant Residential Design", discussed the role of energy codes in reducing carbon impact from the built environment and presented preliminary analysis of a study of the potential embodied carbon impacts of compliance with recent iterations of the International Energy Conservation Codes. This research is being expanded into a full journal article to be published next year.
