Associate Professors Joseph Krupczynski and Caryn Brause of the Center for Design Engagement have been busy this summer working on El Corazon The Heart of Holyoke Project, which has been listed as one of fourteen finalists for the Bloomberg Philanthropies Public Art Challenge. As Artistic Directors of the project, Krupczynski and Brause are collaborating with partners, Nueva Esperanza and the City of Holyoke, to advance the El Corazon proposal, which aims to develop visual art, performances, and cultural programming that celebrates the cultural identities of Latinx, primarily Puerto Rican, neighborhoods surrounding Main Street in Holyoke. Follow the project to learn about activities and events on Facebook.
