Caryn Brause, Associate Professor, helped to organize the inaugural UMass Data VIZ Symposium held in May for the campus community.  The event was a campus-wide partnership of the university's office of Research & Engagement, with the Colleges of Natural Sciences, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Humanities and Fine Arts, and Engineering.

Themes explored in the inaugural workshop included design, layout, and imagery with goals to increase awareness of visual communications concepts, help hone skills, and share resources to improve how we present our ideas and findings to the world.
