During the spring semester 2025, ARCH Students 26MArch/26 MRP Krashang Giri Goswami and Isabel Colina MHC Architectural Studies ’25 have been working in collaboration with BSLA juniors Rhapsody Espiritu, Grace Kirkpatrick, and Trisha Bhattacharya and Five College Architecture Associate Professor Naomi Darling, LARP faculty Mike Davidsohn and Whitney Battle-Baptiste, Director of the W.E.B Du Bois Center at UMass Amherst to reimagine the boyhood homesite of W.E.B Du Bois. Initial concept designs were presented to Chancellor Javier Reyes on May 8th, 2025. The design memorializes the footprint of Du Bois’ grandparent’s home while redesigning the entire site as a living memorial where visitors can reconnect with his life and legacy.
