The 2025 UMass DesignBuild (UMDB) project – the Casa De Vida – was moved from the campus build site to its permanent location in Holyoke, MA. In order to meet highway size restrictions, the house was designed so that the entire roof module could be removed and transported on a separate trailer. Moving day is always tremendously exciting (albeit a little nerve-racking) and is a major milestone towards the completion of a new home for our clients. The UMDB team remains incredibly proud of the student team and grateful for the support of the many individuals and organizations necessary to make these projects a reality.
