Associate Professor Ajla Aksamija was recently interviewed for the National Public Radio (NPR) program "The Pulse." This weekly national radio program, hosted by Maiken Scott, focuses on health, science and innovation. Ajla was interviewed for the episode "The Science of Staying Cool," focusing on new ways of cooling buildings that use less energy. She discussed impacts of climate and environment on building energy consumption, how different building types use energy, energy-efficiency measures for various buildings, impacts of passive design strategies, advanced cooling systems, and her research work on active facade systems that can be used for heating and cooling of interior spaces through integration of intelligent, thermoelectric materials.
