LIVE/WORK/SPACE is a collection of five projects designed by Grigori Fateyev and his firm, Art Forms Architecture (AFORMSA). The commissioned projects in this show represent various design resolutions to the unique and complex challenges presented by artists and their need for studio space. This exhibit offers a glimpse of the architect’s design process, which includes model making, painting, illustration, and rendering as part of the creative developmental process.
AFORMSA, founded by Grigori Fateyev, RA, in 2010, develops contextual and contemporary architectural solutions for residences, artist studios, private art collections, and cultural institutions. AFORMSA is committed to resolving difficult design challenges with clarity, elegance, and refinement. AFORMSA has collaborated with artists on a variety of site-specific art installations, public sculptures, and exhibitions. For the past 20 years, Grigori Fateyev has worked on numerous residential, commercial, and municipal projects, many of which have been built in Berkshires, Hudson Valley, and New York City. Fateyev is a graduate of Cooper Union School of Architecture where he studied with John Hejduk. He was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and has a background in theater set design, which he pursued as a student at The State Institute of Theater, Music, and Cinematography.
In addition to his architectural practice, Grigori Fateyev is currently serving as a curator at Turn Park Art Space, a contemporary sculpture park in Berkshires.
