About Steve

Stephen Schreiber, FAIA, ACSA Distinguished Professor, is Chair of the Department of Architecture at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College (B.A.) and Harvard University (M.Arch.).

Professor Schreiber has served as dean/director at the school of architecture at the University of South Florida, and director of the architecture program at the University of New Mexico. His research and professional work has been published in numerous journals. Schreiber was the 2005-06 President of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA). He was a member of the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Architects, and the board of directors of the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards. He will be the 2023-24  President of the National Architecture Accrediting Board

Schreiber served as an elected Town Councilor in Amherst from 2018 to 2022.
