Tours

Join us for a tree walk on Arbor Day that occurs every April. Tours average about one hour. Learn about our various collections, gardens, and notable champion and legacy trees and about other unusual specimens or uncommon accessions.

Meet our arborists on Arbor Day and enjoy many activities including a tree climbing demonstration. Check the campus events calendar and the arboretum  Instagram page for dates.

Self-guided tours are always an option. Our notable and specimen trees are tagged with interpretive signage that enables students and community members to lead their own tree walks at their leisure.

UMass Permaculture also offers walking tours on campus in the fall and the spring that highlight various woody plants that produce edible fruits, nuts, or leaves. Stay up to date on upcoming interpretive walks by following the UMass Permaculture Instagram page.
