Founder's Day is day-long campus celebration of events and activities. It takes place on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 on the UMass Amherst campus. Last year over 20 departments and the Arboretum Committee hosted more than 35 events. Join the Arboretum Committee members and friends for these events:
Scheduled Events
- 9 am - 10 am: One hour tree walk with Michael Amato & Todd Cournoyer. Meet at the Japanese Elm tree by the library.
- 9 am - 11 am: Tree Climbing Demo with champion tree climber, Stella Dee.
- 9 am - 11 am: Your chance to climb a tree with Dr. Brian Kane.
- 9 am - 2 pm: Willow cutting giveaways on the Library deck with Head Grower, Tim Mercer
- 10 am - 11 am: Ceremonial Spaeth Alder Tree Planting South West of Goesmann in memory of Ecaterina (Katya) Rojco.
- 10 am - 3 pm: Bee Campus table with Aliza Fassler: Live bumblebee colony on display.
- 11 am - 2 pm: Campus Cookout
