I've been so fortunate this academic year to be a part of Wenner-Gren's SAPIENS Public Scholars Training Program, which aims to give anthropologists the tools to make our work more accessible outside of academia.
The final products of the fellowship are fully-produced podcast episodes based on Fellows' research and mine went live today!
"A Story of Icelandic Skulls" from SAPIENS is a story about skull collecting, 20th-century race science, colonial-era Iceland, and a haunted island. But most importantly, it's a conversation on how we reckon with changing attitudes towards the treatment of human remains. And it's based on dissertation research conducted by both me and Anthro Dept alum Dr. Sarah Hoffman!
I would so appreciate it if you gave our episode a listen and shared it!
