Ph.D. student Abigail (Abby) Thomsen is the recipient of the Dr. Charles K. Hyde Public History Intern Award for 2023. The award is for $4000. Abby has also received a UMass Natural History Collections (NHC) Fellowship in the amount of $5000. The committee stated that "While your proposal was outside the mainstream of what the committee would normally fund, we were impressed with the 100% collections focus, the importance of the objectives, and the prospect that the collection may be unsupervised in future."
