Biography
I study the archaeology of northeastern North America, with a focus on Massachusetts and southern New England. I earned my doctorate in anthropology at UMass Amherst in 1993. Over the past 40+ years, I have held a variety of positions in state government and in cultural resource management research organizations. I am presently a lecturer in the Anthropology Department, focusing on teaching large gen-ed lecture classes and providing experiential learning opportunities in the form of internships and independent studies. I also have interests in human ecology, ancient civilizations, indigenous histories, ancient technologies, and presenting archaeology to non-archaeologists.
