Speakers representing federal government agencies are furloughed and unable to participate during the government shutdown. We will attempt to reschedule this event when we're confident that all of the speakers will be able to participate.
Extreme weather has taken a toll on Massachusetts' farmers in recent years. UMass Extension is organizing this forum to bring together representatives from the USDA Risk Management Agency and the Farm Service Agency to give updates on available risk management options for MA specialty crop growers. We will also hear from the Massachusetts Department of Agriculture about the state's disaster and climate change readiness response efforts. We would love to hear from farmers about your experiences with crop insurance and managing weather-related risks so come prepared to share! There will be significant time for the growers and others in attendance to ask questions and share feedback about their needs and concerns.
The link to join online will be sent to all registrants and will be posted on this page.
