Do you love animals? Have you considered becoming a veterinarian? On June 13th and 14th, 2026, MA 4-H Animal Science and UMASS Vet Science will be welcoming students, ages 13 to 18, interested in Veterinary Science. Youth will be learning about the wide range of opportunities in this profession and will get TONS of hands-on animal experience. This year, we are bringing back the option to stay overnight in a UMASS dorm!

SATURDAY – UMass Farm, Learning Center
8:30 – 8:45 am Arrival & Registration
9:00 –10:30 am Welcome, Introductions (Families should stay for this part!)
10:30-12:00 pm Hands-on Activity: Diagnostic Imaging of Sheep and Restraint Techniques
12:00-12:30 pm Veterinary Medicine as a Profession – Round table discussion
12:30– 1:30 pm Lunch
1:30 - 4:00 pm Hands-on Activities: “The Doctor is in the House”- Large Animal Physical Examination. “What’s in Blood?” – Blood Smear Preparation and Analysis
4:00 pm End of the first day of Camp/Head to Dorms for Dinner and Evening Events
SUNDAY – UMass Hadley Farm
7:30 am -8:15 am Breakfast at the Dining Commons
8:30 am – 8:45 am Arrival at Hadley Farm
9:00 am – 12:00 pm Hands-on Activity: “What Can Go Wrong?” – Obstetrical Cases/Birthing “What’s Eating Ewe?” – Parasite Diagnosis and Prevention
12:00-1:00 pm Lunch
1:00 pm – 2:50 pm Pre-Veterinary Olympics and “Paw-lease, no shots!” – Animal Treatments
2:50 pm - 3:00 pm Wrap-up and Camp Evaluation
