Conifers are essential components of our forests and managed landscapes. As ornamentals, conifers provide structure, texture, color, diversity, unique shapes and sizes, border delimitation and privacy. This two-hour program, held in the conifer collection at the Arnold Arboretum, will focus on diseases (and some insect pests) of conifers common in the managed landscape. Topics will include needle blights, twig and branch cankering, root and trunk rot diseases, and various environmental stresses. Management recommendations will also be discussed.
