Fruit Notes

Fruit Notes (ISSN 0427-6906) is published four times per year by the Stockbridge School of Agriculture, University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Fruit Notes began in 1935 with carbon copies of typed manuscripts sent to county Extension offices in Massachusetts. In 1936, it became a regular periodical edited by William Thies. William Lord came to the University in 1955 and became the editor, and William Bramlage edited it in 1985. Wesley Autio took over in 1986. Jaime Pinero is the current editor. Fruit Notes is distributed to growers and researchers in 35 states in the U.S. and 14 other countries. Fruit Notes focuses primarily on tree-fruit culture but addresses small-fruit problems occasionally. Most reports are from current research at the University of Massachusetts and other universities.

The cost of Fruit Notes subscriptions is $35.00 (electronic copy). Each one-year subscription begins January 1 and ends December 31. Payments must be in United States currency and should be made out to the University of Massachusetts.

A hidden link will be mailed immediately after publication to electronic subscribers. Issues will be made freely available on this website six months after publication.

Electronic versions are available for purchase at the UMass Extension Bookstore.

or download the  2024 Fruit Subscription Form and mail it in with your payment.
