Who Should Attend

Fruit and vegetable growers and others interested in learning about produce safety, the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule, Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), and co-management of natural resources and food safety. This course will also cover the Massachusetts Commonwealth Quality Program (CQP), a voluntary 3rd-party audit program.

This training satisfies the FSMA Produce Safety Rule requirement for covered farms that "at least one supervisor or responsible party" completes "food safety training … recognized as adequate” by FDA (21 C.F.R. §112.22(c)).

Cost is $50 and includes:

  • Required PSA Grower Manual ($60 value)
  • Certificate of Course attendance from AFDO ($35 value)
  • lunch and refreshments

**Participants will only be eligible for the PSA/AFDO Certificate of Course Completion if they are present for all modules of the course**

Funding to offset the costs for this training comes from FDA Grant Agreement #U2FFD007426, Path C The Maintenance & Expansion of the Produce Safety Program in Massachusetts.

How to Participate

This is an in-person event. Registration is limited to 50 participants. In the event that the course fills up, registration priority will be given to farms that are required to receive training to comply with federal and state produce safety regulations.
