Weather as Recorded at the UMass Cranberry Station:

East Wareham

January was a below average temperature month, and below average snowfall and precipitation. The average temperature was 27.55 degrees, 1.4 degrees below normal. The maximum temperature was 52 degrees on January 30th, and this is 2.1 degrees colder than normal. A minimum temperature of 5 degrees was recorded on the 22nd ; 2.6 degrees above normal. Daytime high temperatures averaged 36.48 degrees, 0.82 degrees below the norm. Evening temperatures averaged 18.61 degrees, 2.29 degrees below the norm. Evening temperatures of 32 degrees or below were recorded on 29 nights.

Precipitation totaled 2.12 inches. This is 1.95 inches below normal. We had measurable precipitation on 5 days and all of them with precipitation of more than 0.10 inches. The largest 24-hour rainfall was 0.75 inches on the 19th. We had a total of 4 inches of  snowfall, less than half of a January long-term average snowfall of 10.85 inches. 

Sunshine averaged 63% of the possible sunshine hours. There were 4 days with no sunshine and 8 days with 90% or better sunshine. Total sunshine for January 2025 was 52 points above the long-term average for January. 

We had below average temperature, rainfall and snowfall, and above average sunshine hours for January.
