CAFE Director Lynne McLandsborough announced that Luis Márquez, Ph.D., has been appointed the next Director of the UMass Cranberry Station, effective June 1, 2026.
Dr. Márquez brings more than 20 years of experience in both academia and agricultural biotech and has strong ties to Massachusetts. “What stands out most about Dr. Márquez is his ability to connect cutting-edge research with the real-world needs of agricultural communities. His collaborative and Extension-oriented approach, combined with strong ties to the regional innovation ecosystem, positions the Cranberry Station to strengthen partnerships while remaining grounded in its core mission of supporting Massachusetts growers,” McLandsborough said.
