The Springfield Branch NAACP presented the award to Professor Bracey at their Centennial Freedom Fund Banquet on Thursday, September 13th, 2018.  The Hennessey Award is "the highest recognition given by the Branch and is given to individuals for their efforts in eliminating racial discrimination adn promoting civil rights."
