Amilcar Shabazz, W.E.B. Du Bois Professor of Afro-American Studies at UMass Amherst and president of the National Council on Black Studies, has been named a 2021-22 Ida Cordelia Beam Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Iowa. The Ida Cordelia Beam Distinguished Visiting Professorship was established by the University of Iowa in 1977 to fund visiting professorships among eminent scholars and scientists for lectures at the University.
