About this workshop series:
UMass Amherst faculty in the W.E.B. Du Bois Department of Afro-American Studies and the Department of Teacher Education and Curriculum Studies are offering free workshops to prepare local teachers for offering the AP African American Studies course or teaching African American Studies content more generally. The workshop on November 4, 2023 is the first of two planned workshops in the 2023-2024 academic year. The second workshop is planned for March 2, 2024. Teachers can choose to attend one or both of the workshops, but if you are interested in receiving professional development points, you will have to attend both workshops.
Lunch is provided & parking is free.

These workshops will:
-Expose local teachers to U Mass and other five college faculty with expertise in African and African American Studies
-Provide teachers support in developing content and instructional activities for incorporating African American Studies into their courses
