The Mission Statement of UMass Auxiliary Enterprises is to enhance the quality of life of the University community, while expanding resources for the University’s financial stability and growth. To purpose of Campus Planning is to support the overall mission of the University of Massachusetts by guiding the physical development of its flagship campus through the creation, maintenance and administration of a campus master planning process. This is accomplished through communication and collaboration with the campus community supported by the use of dynamic and innovative planning processes and tools to produce creative, comprehensive and feasible solutions.

Controller's Office

Design & Construction Management

Design and Construction Management team is comprised of a group of professional Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineers as well as Registered Architects responsible for the design, project management and construction of our Campus Built environment. These projects generally consist of all renovations, facility renewals, new buildings and large site & infrastructure on campus and support of the Campus Community by providing in-house design and management for our Campus Small Projects Group which are fast tracked, cost effective and nimble to the Client’s needs. The DCM professionals interact with all departments across our Campus maintaining a level of execution and professionalism in the delivery of projects that meet their schedule and cost.

FCS Business Services

Facilities & Campus Services (FCS) Business Services provides a variety of functions to Campus Planning, Design & Construction Management, Physical Plant, Operational Services, and Transportation Services to allow those areas to support the broader University community. The team is responsible for procuring materials and services in compliance with university and state laws; maintaining contracts; accounts payable; labor and material recharge; operating and utilities budgeting and analysis; and capital planning.

Physical Plant

The Physical Plant is responsible for the custodial, grounds, utilities, building maintenance and repair services for all academic and administrative facilities building alterations, sustainability, event planning, moving services, pest control, waste management and recycling, snow and ice removal, asbestos removal, key coring and duplication, and Dig Safe permits.

Transportation Services

Transportation Services provides bus and van service to the University/Five College communities, Special Transportation Services, on-call and reservation service for passengers with both temporary and permanent disabilities, and parking services.

UCard Office

The UCard Office manages and supports the campus one card (UCard) program; issues new and replacement student and employee UCards (official campus identification cards); manages the UCard debit program used extensively both on and off campus; and provides other photo and card services, including passport photos, license photos, and various types of departmental badges.

University Health Services

University Health Services (UHS) provides comprehensive accredited ambulatory health care center with a focus on student health. Current faculty and staff are eligible for care. UHS is not a hospital and does not have an emergency department. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911 for ambulance transportation to a hospital. University Health Services can be reached at (413) 577-5000. It is open Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 and has abbreviated hours during the weekend and intersession/summer periods. The Walk-In Clinic is open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday to Friday.
