The UMass Amherst Arts Extension Service, the College of Humanities and Fine Arts, and BDIC are pleased to present the Arts Entrepreneurship Initiative's Spring Arts and Humanities Internship Fair! The Spring Arts and Humanities Internship Fair will take place on Tuesday, February 13 from 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM at the Fine Arts Center Atrium, and will feature local internship opportunities in the arts, humanities, arts management, and cultural non-profit fields. Internship providers in attendance will include non-profit arts and cultural organizations, museums, performing arts organizations, theatres, creative businesses, and independent artists with spring and summer learning opportunities for UMass students. Refreshments will be provided. A program of internship providers in attendance and their opportunities is available here - you can see a full listing of all available internships at our Current Arts and Culture Internship Postings.
Students can land an internship in one afternoon! Providers may request to further interview intern candidates immediately following the fair. If students are interested in doing an internship for credit in the spring, they may be able to "late add" their internship.
Note: any full-time UMass undergraduate can receive college credit for internships done during the fall and spring semesters through Field Experience at no extra cost. Talk to your advisor to see if internships you do for credit can apply to your major.
Why intern? Career Services recommends arts students complete three internships prior to graduation in order to be competitive in the field. Internships provide students hands-on experience and help them build necessary professional skills through real world practice.
