Scout Cuomo is a visual artist in Western Massachusetts who exhibits paintings in the Northeast and West Coast. Primarily, Cuomo sells work nationally and internationally through marketing online. Cuomo is a Smith College alum working in the Arts & Industry Building in Florence, MA.

Cuomo's studio practice consists primarily of oil & acrylic resin layered paintings on glass, lucite, and handmade wood canvas. Her work encompasses a spectrum of 2-D and 3-D fine art works from charcoal video animation to large private home installations on lucite. The majority of her work is paint and epoxy.

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION:

Scout Cuomo is looking for a thoughtful and organized intern with a strong self-starting initiative who wants to gain experience building and maintaining a studio art practice. There will be a range of opportunities to learn basic website building, business accounting, artist grant & proposal writing, social media marketing, packaging design, and online selling techniques for starting and maintaining a fine arts studio & business. This internship will require packaging and mailing artwork, grant writing, research, social media marketing, and assistance with studio events.

PERIOD OF INTERNSHIP/EMPLOYMENT: Fall, Spring, or Summer.

PAY TYPE: non-paid internship with travel reimbursement

JOB STATUS: Part-time, 4-6 hours/week, spring or summer (currently not looking for fall semester)

LOCATION: ARTS & INDUSTRY BUILDING, 221 Pine St, Florence, Studio #412
