INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION: The Collections Assistant will support the Collections Department with on-going projects related to the upkeep and organization of Berkshire Museum’s interdisciplinary collection of approximately 40,000 objects. Intern will learn how the front-end operations of collection management work at a museum.
Tasks may include:
- Assist in cataloguing, photographing, and condition reporting objects
- Learn and develop skills in object handling and prep, and collection accession
- Assist in maintenance of database through data entry and accessioning projects
- Assist in conducting object and provenance research using the PastPerfect database, accession records, and other sources.
