ABOUT SPRINGFIELD MUSEUMS (springfieldmuseums.org)
Located in the heart of downtown Springfield, the Springfield Museums is a multi-disciplinary campus with buildings focusing on art, history, science, and literacy. It is home to the Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum, Springfield Science Museum, George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum, D’Amour Museum of Fine Arts, and Wood Museum of Springfield History, as well as the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden.
Interns will learn how to facilitate and maintain gallery activities, engage with visitors, prepare project materials, and assist guests with literacy-based activities in the Cat’s Corner.
Duties will include:
Welcoming and creating a sense of belonging for a diversity of visitors.
Helping to prepare, facilitate, and track hands-on educational, literacy-based activities for children.
Working collaboratively with other interns and staff.
Requirements will include a desire to work with children and families, as well as a strong sense of commitment and reliability. Interns will need to pass a CORI check.
