Executive Assistant, Common Wealth Mural Collaborative, Remote
Common Wealth Murals (CWM) is dedicated to bringing more mural art in to public places through the management of mural installations and mural festivals. CWMC produces Fresh Paint Springfield, an annual mural festival which installed 10 large murals in downtown Springfield in June 2019. Fresh Paint Springfield 2021 will bring 10 to 15 more murals and related events to Springfield. We also manage individual mural installations and a community mural training institute.
INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION: This position is ideal for someone interested in arts administration and/or non-profit administration, marketing, event planning, community organizing, and fund raising.
The CWMC Executive Assistant will work closely with the Director. In this position, the Assistant will be involved in administration, grant research, event marketing, event planning, fund raising, and press relations. The Assistant will work with the leaders of Springfield businesses and cultural institutions, city officials and local and national artists. The successful candidate will be able to take direction and work independently, keep track of details on multiple projects, and complete tasks on deadline.
PERIOD OF INTERNSHIP/EMPLOYMENT: This internship can span one or two semesters. Fresh Paint Springfield 2021 will take place from mid-May to mid-June. The person accepting this position must be available to work through the end of June.
