UMass ADVANCE Announces 2020-21 Faculty Fellows

The 39 selected faculty, each representing different departments, will be partnering with the UMass ADVANCE leadership team to promote gender equity for faculty at UMass.

UMass ADVANCE is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), which is advancing women faculty, including women faculty of color, in science and engineering.

The UMass ADVANCE team is delighted to announce the seven faculty who are the inaugural winners of their College’s Faculty Mentoring Award for 2020. Their mentoring ensures that faculty members excel in their careers, and it helps develop a more inclusive environment at the university.

UMass Amherst was awarded a 5-year (2018-2023) $3 million ADVANCE Institutional Transformation (IT) grant to support our efforts at advancing gender equity. The grant is titled Collaboration and Equity: The Resources, Relationships, and Recognition (R3) Model for Advancing Women and Underrepresented Faculty in Science and Engineering.
