Got Lucky at Lucky Break: The Perfect Study Spot in Antibes

Facebook Twitter

You know the expression, “Don’t judge a book by its cover?”  Well, my favorite study spot/hideaway is a literal hole in the wall. It is located in old town, right next to one of the most popular bars in the area. It’s so unnoticeable that it took me a month-and-a-half to discover it, and I have been to that popular bar at least ten times already. This cafe is named Lucky Break, and luckily, I found it.

Lucky (as I refer to it), has an small-town, uplifting, earthy-crunchy vibe to it. It's very similar to Share Coffee in Amherst. It's one of those places where you look at the chalkboard menu and almost cry tears of joy, because it all sounds so good, and you can't decide what you want. My go-tos have become their acai bowl (of course), matcha latte, and smoked salmon-everything bagel.

Besides the food, the ambiance at Lucky is perfect for working, and the wifi is commendably fast. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Old Antibes, I sometimes feel as though I’m right back in Amherst, doing my thing. Kind of a bittersweet feeling, but thanks to the acai bowl, it’s mostly just sweet.

When I started blogging from abroad, my intention was to keep my posts general enough that all future-abroaders could find them somewhat useful. I’ve realized, though, that many of my posts are specific to Antibes, so ... if you’re planning on studying in the French Riviera through CEA, enjoy!
