How Yoga Helps Me Relieve School Stress

The best way that I deal with stress is by practicing yoga. I used to do yoga every other day in high school, as it was offered as an alternative to regular gym class (which I, among many, was not cut out for).

I discovered that yoga was the perfect method to relax me and reduce the stress that came from high school. Even now in college I get stressed from homework, tests, and projects, so doing yoga, or even just small meditation practices, really helps keep me relaxed. This works well for me, especially the night before a big exam.

The most important aspect of yoga is to breathe. Breathing at a steady pace can regulate your mind, emotions, and concentration, as well as calm the body.  When I’m in a situation where I am stressed out in public, I can’t do yoga. So, I deeply breathe in and out and I find that that works just as well.
