UMass Mullins Center

One great thing about UMass is that it has a gigantic arena for sporting events, concerts, and more. The Mullins Center (pictured above) is conveniently located on campus and every-so-often there is a musical performance or event that you just cannot miss. Students at UMass have the luxury of seeing some big-name artists perform right here in Amherst.

Just last year, the Mullins Center played host to a few major concerts which included performances by 21 Savage, Goldlink, Big Sean, and Cardi B... just to name a few. In March, Kevin Hart brought his stand-up comedy tour to campus. The event was extremely popular and nearly completely sold out.

If these events are not your thing, the Mullins Center is also home to the UMass men's hockey and men's/women's basketball teams. It's always a fun experience to go to support these teams because it really shows how close-knit and passionate the UMass community is. It should especially be a lot of fun this year with the excitement brewing around all of these teams. Men's hockey enters the season just outside the Top 20 in the national rankings, and if student support this season is anything like it was for the Vermont game in the conference playoffs last season, we're in for a fun year. Going to these athletic events is completely free — all you need to do is show your UCard!

Likewise, the spring concert, which is also held annually at the Mullins Center, is free for all students with a UCard. Tickets usually are up for grabs a few weeks in advance, but on the day they're available, make sure to get in line early! The concerts are so popular at UMass that students line up hours in advance just to secure their spot on the Mullins Center floor.

This fall, the Mullins Center is hosting a concert called “The Feastival” which will take place in mid-November. The artists that are set to make an appearance include Gucci Mane, Carnage, and SmokePurpp. The event is sure to be a hit and everyone is welcome to come, so feel free to look on the Mullins Center website to grab your tickets.

The Mullins Center always has something going on, and being able to attend these events is one of the many perks of being a UMass student!
