Goats Galore!

Goats at Look Park

On a brisk autumn day, I decided to venture out my beloved UMass and explore the greater Pioneer Valley. I decided to go to Look Park in nearby Northampton...

Here’s a list of what I was expecting:

  • swings
  • benches
  • squirrels/birds

And now a list of what I wasn’t expecting:

  • fields/playgrounds
  • pavilions
  • pedal boats
  • steamer train
  • water spray park
  • mini-golf/tennis
  • grill/sweet shop
  • petting zoo!!

This park is really is a perfect spot for lazy days, parties, and everything in between. The fields, which are sometimes used for lacrosse and soccer tournaments, are otherwise open to the public and are perfect for frolicking.  There are several large pavilion sites that large groups of people can rent for special occasions.  Numerous attractions like pedal boats, a steamer train, water park, and petting zoo provide extra entertainment.

Let’s talk about this petting zoo. This is by far the main attraction of the park, and it includes cuddly animals like goats, as well as exotic animals like peacocks.  They even have food dispensers so that you can feed the goats from the palm of your hands (so be sure to bring quarters)! All of the animals were injured or in harm's way at some point and were brought to Look Park to enjoy a peaceful recovery.

Looking ahead, the park has many festive events lined up including a pumpkin festival, 5K/fun run, and haunted train and light display. For more info, check out Look Park’s website, http://www.lookpark.org.

Antibes Post: Sushi Shop

When I started blogging from abroad, my intention was to keep my posts general enough that all future-abroaders could find them somewhat useful. I’ve realized, though, that many of my posts are specific to Antibes, so ... if you’re planning on studying in the French Riviera through CEA, enjoy!
