Fall Open House Schedule of Events

Below is a general schedule of events for the Fall Open House on Sunday, October 18, 2015.

 

 

9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Registration and Resource Fair
- Mullins Center Concourse
Meet with representatives from the UMass Amherst schools/colleges and programs from across campus to learn about the opportunities and resources available to students in and outside of the classroom!
 
9:30 a.m.
Pre-Veterinary & Animal Science Presentation
(At the conclusion of the presentation, guests will be escorted to a tour of the Hadley Farm.)
 
9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Recreation Center Tours
Leaving every half hour from the Grand Staircase in the Recreation Center

 

10:00 a.m., and 10:30 a.m.
Pre-Medical/Pre-Health Presentations 

 
10:00-10:45 a.m.
Commonwealth Honors College General Information Session - Commonwealth Honors College Events Hall
(This session is also being offered at 2:00 p.m.)
 
11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
University Welcome - Mullins Center Arena

 

11:45 a.m. - 12:50 p.m.
LUNCH - A complete BBQ meal will be available for purchase per person (price TBD). Guests will be escorted from the Mullins Center to the luncheon locations after the Welcome has concluded. After lunch, guests will be escorted from the luncheon location to the 1:00 p.m. academic sessions.

Academic Sessions
The College of Education, College of Engineering, College of Humanities and Fine Arts, Isenberg School of Management, College of Natural Sciences, College of Nursing, School of Public Health and Health Sciences, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, College of Information and Computer Science, Commonwealth Honors College, Stockbridge School of Agriculture, and Bachelor’s Degree with Individual Concentration (BDIC) will offer a variety of meetings, panels, demonstrations, tours, and receptions.
 
Students who are currently undecided about their future college major are encouraged to attend a discussion of our exploratory tracks.  More information about the Exploratory Track program can be found here. (Please note that Exploratory Tracks are for freshman only - transfer students are required to choose a major at time of application.)
 
1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Campus and Residential Hall Tours
Campus Tours will be 45 minute walking tours of academic areas located in the central hub of campus. The Residential Hall Tour will allow visitors to visit a current student’s UMass Amherst home in a Residential Community.
