The objective of the UMass Amherst NSF Accelerating Research Translation program is to create an equitable expansion in the translational capacity of the campus. Success metrics include an increase in patents; startups; students, postdocs, and faculty participating in translational activities. All leading to positive societal impact.

Our Organization

Seven sub-teams create an organizational structure of accountability and focused execution of objectives of Accelerating Research Translation. Every sub-team includes project staff and at least one member of the PI/Co-PI team. Sub-team leaders convene regularly to share their plans, efforts and ideas and to connect to the work of their peers.

Ambassador Network

The Ambassadors Network serves as a referral and recruitment network, a problem-solving network for overcoming barriers to research translation, and a peer mentor network to inspire and support graduate student, postdoctoral and faculty researchers.

Funding

Seed awards provide needed funding to advance translational ideas towards startups and other translational outcomes.
